How To Use RSD Lite

Flashing Motorola firmware using RSD Lite is a common method for unbricking or updating Motorola devices. Steps to flash Motorola firmware with RSD Lite:

  1. Install RSD Lite:
  • Download and install RSD Lite on your computer.
  1. Run RSD Lite:
  • Launch RSD Lite on your computer.
  1. Put your device in bootloader mode:
  • Power off your Motorola device.
  • Press and hold the Volume Down button (and sometimes the Power button) simultaneously to enter bootloader mode. The key combination may vary depending on your device.
  1. Connect your device:
  • Connect your Motorola device to your computer using a USB cable. Make sure the device is recognized by your computer.
  1. Select the firmware:
  • In RSD Lite, click on the “…” or “…” button to browse and select the firmware file you downloaded in step 1. The firmware file typically has an .xml or .sbf extension.
  1. Start the flashing process:
  • Click the “Start” or “Flash” button in RSD Lite to begin the flashing process.
  1. Wait for the process to complete:
  • The flashing process may take some time. Do not disconnect your device during this time.
  1. Reboot your device:
  • Once the flashing process is complete, your device will automatically reboot. It may take a while to boot up for the first time, so be patient.
  1. Factory Reset (optional):
  • It’s a good practice to perform a factory reset on your device after flashing firmware to ensure a clean start. You can do this from your device’s settings.
  1. Set up your device:
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device as if it were new.
